West Central Florida RV Parks by Homosassa Springs WildLife Park

Welcome to Turtle Creek RV Resort. Located 2 miles west of U.S.19, we are an RV Park which has been in existence in West Central Florida since the early 70's. In the last 30-plus years we have had the pleasure of hosting tens of thousands of RV'ers who have come here to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and yet, still be within a few minutes' reach of attractions, shopping, several flea markets, Gulf and freshwater fishing and a multitude of festivals.

Just a mere 1/2 mile from us, on Fishbowl Drive, is the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park, a major Florida attraction which has been called a winter home for the West Indian Manatee, the federally protected sea cow, filmed many times there by Jacques Cousteau and son, Jean Michele.

If fishing is your thing, you can't beat Homosassa for the abundance and variety of fresh and saltwater fishes. Turtle Creek runs right through the middle of the park and is home for some hefty largemouth bass as well as large bream (bluegill) and other species. At the end of the creek is the Homosassa River, a beautiful, spring fed, seven mile-long river which empties into the Gulf Of Mexico. Bring your boat or rent one across the street and try your hand at catching Redfish, Sea Trout, Black Drum, Grouper, Tarpon, Cobia, Shark, Bass or Catfish. There are lots of 'em out there!

Scallop Season will open July 1 and run until mid September. Hundreds of boaters will have a great time snorkeling for the popular shellfish. For those who have never seen a scallop anywhere but on a dinner plate, it is the same shellfish that the Shell Oil Co. uses as their logo. These delectable delicacies from the sea can be harvested by anyone with a valid Florida Saltwater fishing license, which can be obtained at various places in the area, including Wal-Mart. OH!........

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers! You will be only 5 minutes from shopping at America's number one department store. Need staples? Just as close are three major supermarkets to choose from. Five minutes in another direction is the area's most popular Seafood Market where you can buy a variety of fresh fish, shrimp and crabs harvested from the Gulf Of Mexico by local commercial fishermen.

Don't want to cook tonight? There are many Restaurants in and around the Homosassa area, some are right on the Homosassa River. In our office you will find a map with a list of the area dining hot-spots where casual is the general dress code
